Email and Messaging

  • Salt Lake County supports email through a Microsoft Exchange messaging system. There are many methods for accessing an email account, including from a desktop computer at work (through the Outlook Client), through handheld devices such as Smart Phones or other email capable handhelds, and from the Internet using Outlook Web Access.

    • Outlook: This is the recommended way of accessing email from a computer at work and will provide the richest set of features. The County Employees' University provides training for utilizing many of these features and options.  Submit a training form (368 KB PDF) to the University.
    • Handhelds: Access to the messaging system is available from a number of handheld devices. Contact the Service Desk lock if you have questions regarding whether your device is supported or if you need it configured for access.
    • Web Access/OWA (Outlook Web Access): Your email account can be accessed virtually anywhere you can connect to the Internet using OWA. Point your browser to owa.slco.org lock in order to access most of the features available from the regular Outlook client. Authenticate by typing your network login and password.
    • Distribution Lists: Distribution lists can be added to the Outlook Address Book as necessary. Call the Service Desk lock. 385 468-0700.
    • Resource Accounts: Do you wish to schedule conference rooms on your own?  Enter a request by using the Service Desk lock and mention a "Resource Account".
